Meet our intern Shaghayegh

My name is Shaghayegh, I come from Iran and I’m a second-year master student of Global health at Uppsala University. I’m a new intern at Yennenga Progress for half of the autumn semester. I come to this role with a background in nursing, specifically focused on pregnant women, young girls, and new moms. I'm super excited to be here as an intern.

My journey in healthcare has been deeply intertwined with my passion for education and empowerment. I've had the privilege of working closely with pregnant women, guiding them towards safe and healthy pregnancies. I've also had the opportunity to engage with young teenagers, raising their awareness about their sexual and reproductive health and rights. Holding conferences and workshops to empower them with knowledge and choices has been incredibly rewarding.

Additionally, my work has extended to new moms, where I've emphasized the importance of maintaining safe and healthy sexual relationships within families and healthy diet for the infant.

Joining Yennenga Progress feels like a natural extension of my dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable populations through healthcare and education. What excites me most about this opportunity is the organization's strong commitment to sustainability, which aligns perfectly with my values.

I'm truly honored to be part of this team, and I'm eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to Yennenga Progress's mission of making a positive and sustainable impact on the communities we serve. Being a part of an organization that genuinely cares about making a positive impact on the world has brought me immeasurable happiness.

Thank you all for this opportunity, and I look forward to working alongside you to create meaningful changes.
